The qualified candidate will prioritize and manage the Deans on-going calendar of meetings, events, and activities. Evaluate and negotiate dates, times, places, and with whom the Dean will meet and see, ensuring an efficient management of Deans time. Assess and respond to a variety of non-routine, ad hoc, and sensitive/confidential inquiries; resolve problems and advise accordingly within the scope of responsibility or solicit advice from other administrators; recommend courses of action to the Dean. Write and present briefings and reports to the Dean on a variety of issues (budget, admissions, enrollment, information or special requests that require the Deans response). Write speeches, remarks, and letters for the Dean. Manage day-to-day functioning of the Deans Office. Qualifications/Required Education Bachelors degree and Preferred Education Required Experience 3 years experience providing administrative support to high level senior executive, including writing communications, and supervising office operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience Experience at a non-profit or academic institution. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Outstanding writing skills. Excellent organization, planning, interpersonal, and networking skills. Strong detail-orientation. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, creatively resolve problems, and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to interact in a professional manner with all levels of faculty, staff, students and outside groups. Strong knowledge of MS Word; familiarity with spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; ability to conduct research on the Internet.
