The National Security Manager will be responsible for operational matters within the National Security and Infrastructure Protection function. The position provides oversight and coordination of national security initiatives across the company and advocates the companys positions on national security matters. Serve as Sprints onsite representation at the Department of Homeland Security to provide a line of communication between corporate leadership and government officials. Provide onsite support to DHS in the event of a crisis or natural disaster establishing a direct interface between Sprint, the federal government and other telecom providers. Critical real-time information will be collected, analyzed and communicated to Sprints business continuity organizations and other appropriate groups to assist in the national support. Coordinate and monitor requests related to national security across Sprint and with the government. Manage national security requests from federal, state and local jurisdictions. Validate authenticity, determine companys position and coordinate with internal organizations supporting the individual government agencies. Provide a single point of review to ensure a consistent approach is applied across various jurisdictions. Develop corporate positions on national security issues working with internal groups. Represent Sprint positions on government committees and task forces focused on developing security recommendations and best practices on behalf of the communications industry. Preferred Qualifications: 12+ years experience in telecommunications and network industries including voice, data, wireline, and wireless technologies Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, business management or equivalent work experience Able to obtain a government top secret/sci clearance Strong written and verbal communications skills and experience presenting to executive levels Knowledge of security principles including risk management, physical security, and cyber security Experience with federal government and government security requirements Familiar with major government issues affecting telecommunications industry Performs security functions such as; inspections, identification of vulnerabilities, assessment of risks. Makes recommendations of appropriate and required security measures, techniques and methods to assure and improve the protection of personnel, activities and facilities of the organization. Develops and/or implements policies, procedures, standards, training and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, product tampering, espionage, sabotage, or loss. Performs the full range of security functions. Reviews security project designs and contacts on-site progress assessments to insure design specifications meet the security needs. Performs security risk assessments based on vulnerability criteria to determine appropriate levels of protection and security necessary for the site. Recommends and coordinates the acquisition, installation or replacement of equipment designed to increase efficiency of security operations at facilities. Receives and evaluates all security related incidents and makes recommendations to preclude recurrence. Independently plans and conducts sensitive and complex security assessments and briefs senior management on the status of these investigations. Leads large-scale security inspections and risk assessments. Evaluates the latest products and techniques in communications and other technical equipment. Represents the organization in intra and inter-company committees. Uses leadership ability to mentor lesser experienced team members. This is a multi-incumbent position.
