Please Note: Internships are UNPAID and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Resume and cover letter are required for application. Please include days/hours of availability in your cover letter and a college reference contact at the end of your resume. Students should have a strong academic record and good character. Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. students must still be enrolled in school during the time of the internship). Students must be receiving course credit for DC internships. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to arrival if accepted to the program. Only student visas J1 or F1 visas will be accepted. The deadline to apply for winter/spring internship is November, 18th 2009 and the internship program is slated to begin on January 13th, 2010. Internship Description: CNN Network Booking Department is responsible for working with a variety of networks and platforms for CNN Worldwide (including CNNUSA and CNN.com). Its main responsibility is delivering accurate and creative on-air guests segments and pitches and story ideas to all network entities, whether in breaking news situations, in the daily routine of vetting guests, or for special projects for on-air, on-line, and off-air content. Students may have the opportunity to learn and observe a number of functions within the department, such as the research aspects of finding and getting guests to air, managing our online interactive database, and preparing for future news events. Interns will have an opportunity to interact with television guests as greeters in the Washington bureau and occasionally assist in the preparation of editorial board or high-level meetings between newsworthy officials and CNN management. In addition, interns may learn how to prepare background reports on countries or past news events for biographical purposes. Qualifications: In order to facilitate the learning experience, the following qualifications are preferred.
