Must be able to work all shifts, weekends and holidays. Schedule is based on a 40 hour work week. Duties include, but are not limited to: Controls movement & activity within the Emergency Room; provides security, law enforcement presence, protects patients, visitors & staff. Uses crisis intervention techniques. Maintains order. Arrest violators. Conducts investigations, interviews witnesses, gathers evidence & reports findings to Supervisor. Responds to scenes of crime & other incidents, halts crimes in progress, arrest offenders, cares for injured, summons medical assistance, provides first aid. Directs traffic, stops persons from violating Vehicle & Traffic Laws, issues tickets, tows vehicles. Patrols on foot or vehicle through area of patrol in order to deter criminal activity. Prepares reports; testifies in court; meets with groups. Training includes re-certification, semiannual qualifications and special assignments.
