Job Summary Transportation Service Specialists are responsible for driving vehicles and coordinating the delivery / pick up of critical customer media in a timely, courteous and professional manner. Essential Functions * Primary and back-up driving responsibilities on all routes providing delivery / pick up of media in agreement with company policy and customer requirements. * Utilize mobile communication equipment in a safe and practical way following company policies and standards. * Utilize handheld bar code scanner and related PC as required with SecureBase inventory systems. * Responsible for organizing, loading and unloading media as required at both company and customer locations with the use of flatbeds and hand trucks. Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate safe/efficient-driving skills. * 1+years route transportation experience preferred. * Applicants should be computer proficient, able to communicate verbally with customers, able to complete paperwork accurately and completely and understand the importance of detail and accuracy. * Able to lift materials weighing up to 40 pounds; able to use tools to maneuver. * You must be at least 21 years old with a valid drivers license and a good driving record, and be able to pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening, a background check and a DOT physical. Physical Requirements of the Job Standing Must tolerate occasionalperiods of maintaining entire body in erect posture with static weight bearing on one or both legs without changing position. Frequency: Occasionally Duration: 1-2 hours/day Work Performed: Delivering and picking up containers Sitting Must tolerate constantperiods of resting entire body weight on buttocks without change in position. Frequency: Constantly Duration: 6-7 hours per day Work Performed: Driving the van Walking Must tolerate occasionalperiods of moving the entire body from one location to another with the use of legs. Frequency: Occasionally Duration: 1-2 hours/day Work Performed: Delivering and picking up containers Pushing Must tolerate occasionalperiods of exerting force upon or against an object to move it away from the body. Frequency: Occasionally Duration:40-60 minutes total Work Performed: Handling carts Weight Range: 50-60lbs Average Weight: 25-lbs force Pulling Must tolerate occasionalperiods of exerting force upon or against an object to move it toward the body.
