Position Title Senior Human Resources Assistant Posting Date 10-19-2009 Posting Number 20090755 Grade 10 Division 01 - STERN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS Category Clerical/Technical Object Code 106 F/T or P/T: FT Position Summary Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of University and unit human resources and payroll policies and procedures. Interact with general public as NYU contact/liaison and University personnel including senior personnel regarding specific issues and problems. Provide support for recruitment-related activities; prepare job requisitions and utilization reports; forward resumes to appropriate department heads; track recruitment activities in database. Customize and/or compose letters in response to requests for information. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants. Qualifications/Required Education High School diploma or equivalent or an Associates degree or some college. Preferred Education Bachelors degree. Required Experience 3 years of related experience (with High School diploma). 2 years of related experience (with Associates degree). Experience providing a high level of customer service. Preferred Experience 1-2 years related experience in a human resources or payroll office (with Bachelors degree). Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software. Knowledge of Access.
