The Role: A Technical Account Manager in Global Support Services is key to servicing our enterprise customers and partners. This role serves as the primary escalation point for our Enterprise class customers and partners within Global Support Services. You will help debug, quantify and test issues escalated by our customers and partners for the complete Red Hat Enterprise Linux product family. You will work closely with other members of Global Support Services and with the Red Hat Engineering organization to help resolve issues and build relationships. The Technical Account Manager is a highly qualified and experienced professional who works in a team environment to maximize our value to our customers. Primary Responsibilities: ? Perform initial or secondary investigation and respond to both online and phone support requests made by partner customer and engineering organizations ? Work with partners to proactively identify and prevent joint customer issues ? Gain understanding of our partners technical infrastructure and environment, hardware, and/or products ? Serve as the partner advocate within Red Hat ? Maintain clear and concise ticket documentation ? Some domestic traveling required; some international travel may be required Required Skills & Experience: ? Minimum of 2 years Linux/Unix system administration experience ? Excellent understanding of the Linux and the Linux filesystem and general understanding of the Linux kernel ? Hands-on experience with a variety of hardware vendors ? Experience with Enterprise class applications such as Oracle, Veritas, BEA, and CA ? Effectively manage and grow existing Enterprise customer and partner relationships by delivering best of class support ? Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) ? Experience in a development, engineering, or quality assurance organization ? Experience working with external customers and vendors Desirable Skills: ? Active or history of participation within the Open Source community ? BS in a technical field; an engineering or computer science background preferred ? Experience with other Unix or Linux versions or distributions ? Experience with clustering technology ? Red Hat Certified Technician or Red Hat Certified Engineer ? Experience in training/presentation delivery ? Fluency in an additional language: Spanish, Portuguese, French or German Requirements As stated above.
