ASST MANAGER HUMAN RESOURCES (RHQ)

Job Summary

Assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Associate Relations unit, reports to the HR Manager - Associate Relations and assists managers with HR issues.  Contributes to the accomplishment of HR practices and initiatives and provides both project and administrative support for the implementation of HR services, policies and programs such as training, new hire orientation and summer intern programs.  Assists the HR Manager in preparation of reports, including research and analysis of various HR topics.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

* Create, organize, and maintain associate employment records relating to Human Resources such as Personnel, Benefits, I-9 and other HR related documents * Process associate personal and salary changes in compliance to company standards and Federal and State regulations * Responsible for assisting with the administration new hire on-boarding processes such as conducting  new hire orientation,  paperwork and conducting follow up meetings at set intervals to ensure new associates are appropriately transitioning into their positions * Handle associate inquires on matters related to company programs, activities and questions regarding company policies,  procedures and general HR policies (i.e., benefits and payroll) * Responsible for preparing reports and assisting with the daily administration of company programs, in addition to  maintaining a good knowledge and application of HR policies and providing assistance in monitoring employee and management compliance with policies * Attend succession planning meetings to document all pertinent information either electronically onto a laptop, on succession planning application, on flip charts or note taking * Coordinate the planning, organizing and facilitating of associate functions, including employee training and development * Make corrections and/or changes in the Performance Management System and documents; ePerformance (cancel objectives, instruct associates when they are having trouble, need direction regarding the system) * Take the lead in handling the hourly evaluation process for the Head Quarters, coordinating with the respective HRM in handling the Below Expectation (BE) performers at the hourly level * Conduct both in-person and phone unemployment appeals/hearings. Act as liaison with 3rd party vendor (TALX)  regarding unemployment claims * Assist in preparing for and attending Job / Career Fairs as needed * Assist in interviewing for select positions in the client groups supported (non-exempt positions; entry level  exempt -level A and possibly other levels) * Coordinate exit interviews and review and analyze employee satisfaction  surveys * Provides assistance, receive and screen visitors and telephone calls as required * Handle additional HR tasks such as; developing job descriptions and compensation level, conducting best practice research, and other projects as assigned

Qualifications

Education Level and Experience

Bachelors Degree or an Associate Degree with a minimum of 2 years progressive HR-related experience

* Strong customer service focus, highly organized, responsible, and detail oriented * Proficiency in MS Office products is essential such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Effective written and verbal communication skill, and have the ability to prioritize and process high volume of work while maintaining the highest quality * Must be able to communicate HR issues to large and small audiences * Must be able to identify and resolve problems and requests in a timely manner * Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully * Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
