Associates in this job use their depth of analytical and communication skills to help multinational clients manage their benefit plans outside their home country. Consulting expertise includes oversight on design, financing, and administration of benefit plans outside the home country and technical consulting and project management for global projects such as consolidating benefit financial reporting requirements, performing global benefit assessments, and other global client requests. As appropriate, they will also consistently demonstrate breadth of knowledge across the lines of business. In addition, the associate is expected to exhibit strong skills in at least two of the following four areas or breadth of skill in three of the following four areas: * Client leadership -- have a broad understanding of all services we provide to the client, seek opportunities to make integrated offers to other parts of our business, develop and nurture client relationships, and provide the team with line of sight to the clients needs * Business leadership -- focus on financial results, assist in strategizing for pricing and selling new business, help to manage resource allocation in light of business needs, connect with other parts of our business to help guide integration of our business with others, and ensure that the group contributes to the success of the region/firm. * People leadership -- ensure that pay decisions and performance discussions occur on a timely basis, deal with people issues, ensure that coaching/training is occurring and that associates have opportunities to work on various types of projects, and help to engage associates so their work contributes to business strategies and promotes a satisfying work experience. * Thought leadership - provides specific technical expertise or strategic direction on certain topics which affect our business (either locally or more broadly to the practice), support and encourage new ideas, develop tools and methodologies for transferring thoughts and ideas to others, and analyze/research information to send to clients. Specific accountabilities: * Leads the Global RFM client relationship on multiple large annuity or targeted clients * Manages a large portion of the client portfolio and/or associate population * Communicates effectively in most, if not all, client situations (Board of Directors, HR Lead, Finance Lead, etc.) * May team with more experienced consultant(s) on strategic issues or on large opportunities * Highly leveraged, primarily through building business with current clients and developing business with new clients. * Leads new business development efforts as they become available * Manages the client relationship(s), team(s) and assignment(s) in an oversight/review /quality assurance capacity * Viewed as a strategic consultant and business partner to senior client contacts. * Very versatile - able to be sold as lead consultant in most situations. Qualifications * Academic background in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or other related degree * Generally 10+ years of related work experience, preferably in a consulting field; and/or * Generally 5+ years post exams - Fully Qualified Actuary (US: FSA or EA; UK: FIA or FFA; Canada: FCIA) * If candidates do not possess actuarial credentials they must have global benefits consulting experience * Diploma in International Employee Benefits a plus * Uses discipline specific (Retirement, Legal, Investment, International, Pension Administration) best practices * Manages all aspects of global consulting projects * Possesses deep understanding of regulatory and legislative rules for countries outside of home country. Examples include but are not limited to, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and China. * Uses appropriate delivery models, tools and resources * Understands broad market trends and recognizes these issues in the client situation * Understands all lines of businesses, their offers and points of integration All positions require an applicant who has accepted an offer to undergo a background check.
