Structured Equity Derivatives asset class.This role is located in New York and reporting locally to Structured Equity Derivatives IT team in New York, and globally to IT Trading Platform team located in Paris, Hong Kong, Pune (India) and New York .Trading Platform IT is in charge of installing and developing IT tools for order management on cash and derivatives Exchanges. HSBC is using Horizon system developed by Horizon Software with access to the Exchanges through GL and Fidessa systems.Structured Equity Derivatives IT group develops, enhances and maintains the primary trading systems, Sophis and Calypso, used in New York to support the needs of the Equity Derivatives business.A BA/PM is required with good knowledge of cash and derivative products (ideally Cash Equity/Equity Derivatives), experience working with and strong knowledge of market access and order executions, and a good mix of business knowledge/technical ability/financial awareness. The candidate will be responsible for understanding the business requirements for an IT project/system and translating these requirements into detailed specifications. He/she will further analyse these requirements to help define scope, break down complexities and understand the business value that IT can provide. Will act as a primary interface with the business users to address issues and concerns and ensure a workable solution is proposed by the project team .Responsible for communicating with the business in a clear, concise and unambiguous manner. Integrate and configure Horizon for market access to new markets in Latin America. Roll out Horizon modules to traders located in NY and other location in Americas. Second line support for Trading Platform globally. IT testing for new releases. Change management on bug fixes and new releases .Work closely with the business and developers to ensure that requirements are documented and understood thoroughly, and clearly communicated .Demonstrate leadership and assume ownership in providing detailed business knowledge around existing/new business and IT processes/systems, drilling down into the detail of the business requirements and understanding all aspects of the requirements .Engage in the resolution of business problems and keep stakeholders regularly updated .Expect to be involved in ad hoc projects as required. Basic Qualifications: * Degree in Computer Science or related field * IT experience of three years minimum on external vendor software integration on Equity Derivatives trading systems * IT experience in change management procedures * Functional knowledge of securities and derivatives trading, and basket trading * Knowledge of Clearcase, Control-M and an experience of development in Java is appreciated * Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills (face-to-face, via phone/email and in producing written documentation) * In-depth understanding of front office and support function procedures (Trading, Risk Management, Settlement, Trade Capture, Process Controls Reconciliations, Etc) * Detailed understanding of Project Management principals (Producing user requirements, functional specs, project plans, test scripts, & performing integration, regression, & UAT testing) * Dynamic leadership & communication skills * Understanding of providing timely and accurate support to business users * Flexible approach to working hours and responsibilities * Willingness to provide out-of-hours cover when required * Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure without sacrificing accuracy and coding quality * Bilingual in French or Portuguese preferred Please refer to job code 84167 when responding to this ad.
