Description ------------ Great contract to hire opportunity located in the heart of downton DC, close to Union Station. Please review the following job description: Thuis candidate will provide leadership to Network Security Team, ensuring the network remains protected from hackers and other unauthorized users while not impacting the performance of the network or the production security systems. Provide technical guidance in analyzing and evaluating networks and security vulnerabilities; and daily management of production security systems including firewalls, intrusion detection, antivirus, patch management, and encryption. Evaluate the network to determine vulnerabilities and risks, identifies mitigating strategies, and directs resources to implement efficient and effective solutions. Ensure potential solutions are interoperable within the existing network and security infrastructure. Manage forensics investigations and consults with Administrative and General Counsel. The position has training and supervisory/managerial responsibilities. Position may require the ability to work shifts to provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week technical support for the House information security technology infrastructure. This position requires demonstrated expertise in the following: Evaluation, implementation, and management of production security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection, antivirus, and patch management; Implementation and management of enterprise encryption systems; Risk analysis methodologies, system vulnerabilities, and information security policies and procedures; Communicating technical topics to elected officials, senior executives, managers, and IT professionals; Ability to comprehend and integrate complex computer technology and software into an effective information systems security program; Maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, users, contractors, and vendors; Security architecture, design, and planning; Network and Internet security; Relevant operating systems security (Windows, Solaris, Linux, etc.); Strong analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues with network/operating systems Possess security certifications (CISSP desired) Duties/Responsibilities:Minimum 12 years of overall IT experience, and at least 6 involved in INFOSEC, intrusion Detection, Vulnerablity Assessment, and Continuity Planning Minimum bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience Knowledge of some of the following Firewall technologies: -Check Point -Arc Site -SIM -Intershield -LAN Cope -Big Fix -RSA Please refer to job code 15333580 when responding to this ad.
