Position Title  Associate Director of Development, School of Social Work Posting Date  10-27-2009 Posting Number  20090772 Grade  17 Division  01 - UDAR Category  Administrative/Professional Object Code  100 F/T or P/T:  FT Position Summary  Today, the Office of University Development and Alumni Relations seeks a skilled Associate Director of Development for the School of Social Work. The Associate Director will develop and implement comprehensive fundraising campaigns targeted at major individual, corporate and foundation prospects, and designed to increase private sector support for the School of Social Work. Develop, direct and administer Alumni Relations programs for the School targeting towards a goal of increased interest and involvement by alumni, and maximizing long-term gains in alumni giving. Qualifications/Required Education  Bachelors degree and Preferred Education  Masters degree preferred Required Experience  5 years progressively responsible experience in fundraising or an equivalent combination. Must include experience planning and promoting special events, overseeing operations and writing proposals. Preferred Experience  Experience with fundraising in an academic and/or non-profit environment. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  Ability to exercise persuasive techniques in communicating with potential and major gift donors, alumni and senior management. Excellent research, written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to take initiative and collaborate with others. Working knowledge of a variety of software applications. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  Proficiency with MS Office, Access and Powerpoint. Working knowledge of BSR Advance.
