The SAIC Homeland Security Solutions Division (HSS) currently has an opening for a Senior Technical Architect. POSITION OVERVIEW: The candidate will be supporting the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) Client. In this role, the candidate will provide technology advise, and systems design and architecture consulting and guidance to the Government and the contractor development project teams responsible for the implementation efforts of the ICE IT systems. The candidate will also provide analysis and assessment of documentation and implementation artifacts developed by the contractor development project teams under the umbrella of System Lifecycle Management (SLM). This is to ensure that the system is being built using a sound architecture design that follows ICE architecture standards and methodologies as well as fully aligned with the systems functional requirements. In addition, the candidate will develop, implement, and enforce a list of best practices and approved technologies to support the ICE architecture through a disciplined approach and consistent process. The candidate may also be required to prototype and populate ICE Architecture with Web services that provide the foundation for mission system services. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university with minimum 12+ years Technical Architecture Engineering experience to include at least 7 years of experience in J2EE, JAVA, XML, Oracle, and SQL. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: The candidate must have in depth experience and knowledge architecting, designing, and implementing systems using various kinds of reference architectures, such as the Service Oriented Architecture, Web-based applications, as well as Client Server environments. In addition, the candidate must have experience and knowledge of Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) Framework. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Contract requires U.S. Citizen and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust Suitability. SAIC also requires background verifications, which may consist of education, employment, credit, criminal and driving records, depending on nature of position.
