Position Summary: He/She will provide leadership for the design, development, and implementation of highly complex, reliable, and scalable solutions for databases, middleware, and tools to support a service-orientated architecture that will meet the business and technical objectives and requirements of the worlds largest wine company. You will participate and influence the identification, prioritization and development of technical initiatives and strategies in the Oracle database area, and provide tactical and strategic inputs to engineering teams and IT/Technology management teams. Responsibilities: Facilitate and lead the initiation of key strategic infrastructure initiatives by developing an overall architecture for the Oracle database environment, middleware and tools area Author Architectural reviews by utilizing a fact based methodology (i.e. across all domain areas against alignment to key business objectives) to ensure comprehensive solutions Provide direction and architecture for Oracle and related supporting technologies that includes: Oracle10g/11g, Oracle RAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Identity Manager etc. Provide leadership in development of operations procedures, support tools, and utilities with the ability to understand business requirements and align enabling technology Act as in-house trusted advisor to IT executives and management for Oracle technology solutions and architecture Drive the creation of approved technology standards and ensure awareness throughout IT Help establish technology strategies ensuring that enterprise, interdepartmental, and business objectives are addressed Work with business teams to develop Business Process Models and work with technology teams to design, develop and implement these processes and required infrastructure Establish data standards and policies, systems architecture design, and migration systems architectures to ensure access to and integrity of data assets Core Competencies to be Successful: Strong technical skills balanced with strong analytical skills Customer/Quality focus Teamwork/Collaboration Requirements Minimum of 8-10 years of experience working with Oracle databases and technology in a fast paced and challenging environment. Must possess strong experience and knowledge of Oracle database and related/supporting technologies and tools that include Oracle RAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Grid Control, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, database security concepts etc. Experience creating formal technical documentation that details architecture, requirements, design and implementation Proven experience and knowledge in the area of designing and building scalable, high performance, highly available database infrastructures Demonstrated leadership skills Croop-LaFrance, Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer Skillset: Please refer to job code 2365 when responding to this ad.
