Environmental Analyst

Environmental Analyst Department:Applied R&D Division Office:    New Carrollton Location:  New Carrollton, MD Description Position: Environmental Analyst Summary Key Responsibilities: * Works with customer and research team to develop and derive detailed requirements for environmental software development and research.  * Attend meetings, including telecons, to support the goals and strategies of the AEDT development and NextGen * Air quality transportation analyst for airport sources using the following models: EDMS, MOBILE, NONROAD, and AERMOD * Provides expertise in reviewing research studies required to develop requirements, including recommendations necessary for program and project accomplishment. * Provide reviews and write-ups of air quality assessments Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: * Bachelors degree in science or engineering or related field from an accredited university; Master’s degree would be preferred. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Ability to grasp / understand the physics of operation of technological systems (aircraft, surveillance, navigation, communications, automation, etc.) * The candidate must be a self-starter with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and a team player. * Must have excellent oral communication and writing skills including the ability to present the analysis method and results in written reports and verbal briefings to various audiences * Experience with SQL Server 2005 / 2008 * Experience in database design preferred * Candidate must be proficient in standard office computer applications and software, to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Supplemental Information: * Experience in the aviation industry preferred * 5+ years analyzing complex systems preferred * Experience in aviation noise modeling a plus (INM, NIRS) * Experience in global aviation models a plus (SAGE, MAGENTA) About CSSI CSSI, Inc. is a technical and engineering services company headquartered located near L’Enfant Plaza in Washington, DC, with additional offices along the Eastern Seaboard.
