Responsibilities System performance analyst and 6-DOF simulation developer for maneuverable reentry vehicle concepts. Duties include: 1) Evaluate performance of real and conceptual reentry vehicles. 2) Develop or modify existing tools with appropriate fidelity to estimate performance characteristics of real and conceptual reentry vehicles. 3) As needed, conduct performance sensitivity studies covering variations in the aerodynamic models, guidance laws, environmental conditions, etc for reentry vehicles. 4) Prepare written reports and oral presentations of evaluation results. 5) Design and code, document, validate, and maintain analysis software. Qualifications Required: B.S. degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field; 2 years experience in high fidelity digital simulation and modeling of subsystems related to maneuvering vehicles; proficiency in software design, development and maintenance; knowledge of data evaluation techniques and good problem solving skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work and contribute in a team environment. Desired: M.S. degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field; 5 years experience in high fidelity digital simulation and modeling of subsystems related to maneuvering vehicles; knowledge of modern control systems and aerodynamic model development. Special Work Conditions Some travel required.
