The Digital Group has an open position for an Information Architect with its User Experience team based out of NYC, NY. The Information Architect is responsible for specifying navigation, organization, and interaction design with a user-centered focus. Youll be working with another IA as well as a team of designers and business analysts to create product interfaces for college instructors and students. You would report to the Director of User Experience. Various Responsibilities: * Develop and deliver user-centered designs utilizing user flows, wireframes, sitemaps, and navigation schemes for rich internet applications and web sites * Conduct heuristic analysis and make recommendations for improvement * Concept generation and modeling * Assist in planning and development of usability testing * Planning, coordinating, and executing formal and informal user research * Assist in translating complex business requirements, user requirements and specifications * Work collaboratively with other members of UX team to create compelling user experiences * Well versed in interaction design thinking and execution * Collaborate with Visual Design and Content to come up with holistic solutions * Conducting stakeholder interviews, card sort exercises, and synthesizing results in a meaningful and actionable way * Research and analyze industry trends and competitive information * Effective communication skills, both orally and written * Provide estimates for deliverables and possess strong time management skills * Able to take ownership of tasks and drive them through to completion Qualifications * Bachelors Degree * Demonstrated success with the following: web-based application design, conceptualizing task flows, creating wireframes and rapid prototyping * Create solutions based on user research * Solid experience utilizing OmniGraffle (Visio is okay, but we will convert you!) & Photoshop * Experience with web analytics or doing your own usability tests is a plus * Be comfortable with presenting your work and challenging/be challenged by your peers * Use modern applications, visit modern sites as a part of your daily life * Ability to work in a fast pace environment and provide quick-turnarounds * We are primarily a Mac shop Examples of Projects at McGraw-Hill Higher Education include: Connect Web-based assignment management system that saves instructors time and makes learning for students accessible anytime, anywhere.
