Georgetown University has been engaged in a 36 month project to replace its legacy student system with SunGard Higher Educations Banner Student and Financial Aid modules. The project team is looking for an experienced application analyst to serve as a key member of the Student Application Systems Support team. The senior programmer/analyst will be the primary technical support liaison to the Universitys Student Records, Student Accounts or Financial Aid Office by supporting the technical analysis of their business processes and rules, the development of secure interfaces with other business applications, and the design and development of applications to supplement the core functionality. This advanced level position will provide high level technical and analytical support for all phases of the Banner software lifecycle, and require the Senior Analyst/Programmer to establish priorities using a goal driven process that maps team activities with user-prioritized business goals. Minimum requirements: The successful candidate will have: Senior Oracle PL/SQL application developer highly experienced working in a UNIX environment. Strong background in a multiple set of programming languages and technology architectures. Experience in working in n-tier application environments. Java and Oracle certification a plus. Experience and demonstrated understanding of change management tools and methodologies. Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills, ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment; strong communication skills, both written and oral. Demonstrated experience working with diverse project teams comprised of very technical colleagues as well highly knowledgeable end users. Experience with the Student or Financial Aid components of Student Administration Systems frequently used in higher education is essential; experience with SunGard Higher Education Banner applications, especially Banner Student or Financial Aid is highly desirable.
