City Aberdeen Proving Ground State Maryland [MD] Country United States [US] Title Bio-Mechanical Engineer Internal ID EVII113109 Number of Positions 1 Overview Quantum Research International is seeking a cutting edge Bio- Mechanical Engineer to support research for the modernization of the U.S. Warfigher at U.S. Army Research Laboratory on the Aberdeen Proving Ground. We are seeking an individual with expertise and experience as well as a high degree of problem solving skills in this refined and technical engineering discipline. Responsibilities Biomechanical engineer will work in a research and development environment to determine the occupant kinematics and how injuries occur within proposed Army systems. They will also evaluate restraint systems and protective devices and determine if injuries are consistent with the available evidence. Biomechanical engineer will evaluate the mechanical aspects of a proposed system, and also evaluate the systems interaction with the human body to determine if the system is Soldier survivable. Biomechanical Engineer to provide computational support for Biomechanics and Injury Mitigation Systems (BIMS) Program focused on understanding human body response to blast, ballistic and automotive impact. Biomechanical Engineer will provide computational human model development including finite element mesh development, material model optimization, and contact algorithm selection. Biomechanical Engineer to be involved in performing modeling and simulation of blast, ballistic and automotive impact loading events on component and full human models leading toward model validation. Biomechanical Engineer will be involved in the computational modeling of the effects of bone augmentation in support of surgical planning. Biomechanical Engineer is to provide support of experiments used for computational model validation. Requirements Strong Math background with Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Finite Elements is required. Related degrees desired are PhD in Bio-Medical, Bio-Mechanical Engineering or Masters in the same. Previous experience with auto crash evaluation in relation to Human Trauma related is required. Previous experience with Human Factors Engineering is desired.
