Candidate will be located in Glasgow, Delaware Training Facility. Global Product Education (GPE) organization is responsible for the development and delivery of education and training for both employees and customers. All individuals in GPE work cross functionally with second level support, manufacturing, marketing, sales, technical assistance, software development, core teams, and other groups in the development and delivery of education and training. Direction for GPE is provided by establishing annual strategic imperatives. These imperatives will create the foundation of tactical initiatives for continued improvement in educational offering, customer relationships, method penetration, cash-flow, productivity, and building organizational excellence. As a member of the Education Solutions team, the Incumbent is responsible for the overall instructional integrity of the performance improvement solutions for active and collaborative distance learning. This entails determining the proper blend of e-learning and classroom-based learning to be used in a given solution. Taking strategic and operational direction from the Manager of Education Solutions, the incumbent actively participates with the Manager of Education Solutions and Education Specialists to develop effective training programs based on established curriculum design and to ensure compliance with all quality system requirements. The Incumbent works with the Manager of Education Solutions and Technology Solutions to research, analyze, and recommend technology platforms for use in the classroom and with web-based training. The Incumbent in conjunction with the Education Solutions team and team of Education Specialists will participate in the development of all product training. Incumbent fulfills diverse assignments that support departmental and business needs. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Manager Education Solutions, Global Product Education. This position has no direct reports. NATURE AND SCOPE: 1. Actual business environment in which the position is performed: The Education Solutions Consultant executes the duties at the Americas ? Center of Excellence facilities, customers facility, regional training location, and international Center of Excellence facilities. 2. Nature of Interaction with Others: The Education Solutions Consultant works with global training functions, Corporate e-Business, Information Technology, Program Delivery Managers, CCMs, RMs, other Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics functional groups and external customers (Domestic and International), with some guidance from the Manager of Education Solutions or Director of Global Product Education. Interactions should be effective and incorporate Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics identified competencies. 3. Nature of Problem-Solving: The Education Solutions Consultant works with project sponsors and teams to conduct needs-analyses to understand the performance or knowledge gap that needs to be resolved, then to determine most efficient way to implement. 4. Freedom to Act in the position: The Education Solutions Consultant initiates interaction with project sponsors and team members, other Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics functional groups and external customers, with some guidance from Manager of Education Solutions or Director of Global Product Education. 5. Nature of Policy Decision-Making: The Education Solutions Consultant can make the following kinds of decisions without the approval of management. Agreement from project sponsor would still be necessary: - Resource management and leveraging to meet business needs - Tactic implementation in response to needs-analysis - Solutions to training development issues The following kinds of decisions are made by management or project sponsor, but may be based on this positions recommendations, analysis or input: - Training programs for new products - Training interventions for targeted audience - Strategies and objectives for organization - Technology platforms to incorporate into training - Evaluation mechanisms for the effectiveness of training programs 6. Nature of Travel: Domestic and international travel is necessary for project work such as; project management, instructional design, and mentoring, also for meetings or professional development courses. Travel can be 1 day to 1+ weeks at one time dependent on the purpose. 7. Nature of Equipment and Tool Usage: Frequent-Computer and telephone. As Needed- CPS unit, audio and software recording tools. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 40% - Project management and instructional design for the development of both customer and employee training programs using an established foundation for curriculum design. Participate as a part of a core team to develop training programs, including computer-based, web-based asynchronous courses, self-study and instructor-led courses. Develop standards of functionality, effectiveness, and appearance for training. Identify course objectives and assess most effective instructional method to achieve. Partner with subject matter experts to develop innovative solutions that impact business metrics and organizational effectiveness. Consult the education specialists in updating the content of existing training offerings to include new techniques, approaches and technology. The incumbent communicates ideas to other core team members through various forms of written communications including lists of learning objectives, script, story boards, outlines, testing, blueprints and flow charts. 20% - Create or specify multimedia and interactive learning resources and related documentation, as determined by course design, including self-paced learning modules, job aids, tests and surveys, instructor guides, student manuals and workbooks, and presentation materials. The incumbent will manage the design and development of pre-training modules consisting of subsystem overview; to be delivered by web-based training. 15% - Evaluate training effectiveness, includes front-end performance improvement measurement identification by working with trainee organization, and development and implementation of evaluation mechanism as well as reporting on trends/corrective action. Determine transfer of knowledge levels and redesign/update existing materials. 15% - Conduct needs-analysis and other research to identify and validate need for training. Identify target audience and research their current mastery level; identify gaps and develop learning objectives and specifications. Observe task performance in the training and trainee environment as needed. 5% - Encourage, initiate and/or conduct technology strategy and learning theory research to further knowledge of interactive course design, delivery and technology implementation. Establishes and maintains network of alliances with colleges and universities to identify alternate training design and delivery channels. Participate in activities that support professional development, e.g., workshops, seminars, training organizations. 5% - Delivers training on occasion as part of the mentoring role within the scope of the Education Solutions Consultant job description. Provide training/support as needed for the Center of Excellence facilities and Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics functional groups for Instructional Design principles, software applications and technology integration into the curriculum. From time to time, the incumbents supervisor/manager may assign additional unlisted duties/responsibilities on a temporary or regular basis depending on business needs. Incumbent is responsible for understanding the Quality Management System. Incumbent needs to integrate their knowledge of the quality policy and business objectives into their work practices to augment the business such as: participating in internal audits, identifying areas which need improvement, implementing plans to correct and prevent problems. Incumbent is required to meet all Quality Management System requirements for the functional group and Siemens healthcare Diagnostics. A key responsibility of this position is to ensure that their area of responsibility meets current medical device regulations and quality standards. Incumbent is responsible for understanding and complying with Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Standards for Business Conduct, and is expected to conduct themselves and their work activities in an ethical manner at all times.
