This position is integral to the successful "yield" of newly admitted students and to their retention through graduation. Supports the universitys need-blind admissions policy and allows Georgetown to remain competitive by providing aid packaging and financing options to ensure affordability for all Main Campus students. Delivers counseling services to current and prospective students and their families regaarding the financial aid process, procedures, and program rules, including information about all federal, state, private, and institutional loan, grant and work programs; responsible for preliminary review and processing of financial aid applications, maintenance of all financial aid records, and written and verbal communication with Main Campus students to ensure the highest standards of customer/client services; supports established procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and University policies. Requires Bachelors degree and 2 years administrative experience. Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data and to use independent judgment where apprpriate. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated ability to work with a diverse client population, and commitment to continuous quality improvement and customer services are required. Experience with and knowledge of mainframe and/or PC based administrative software is required; any combination of experience with SunGards Banner, COGNOS, and/or Microsoft Office is highly desirable.
