Research Associate

The Research Associate (RA) helps coordinate all aspects of the Shark Bay Dolphin Research Project including logistics, data collection, field site maintenance, website development and communications, graduate and undergraduate training and assistance. The RA helps maintain the integrity of the database and will work closely with the Database Manager. The RA will also conduct field research and assist in identifying and tracking dolphins. Minimum requirements: Bachlelors degree or equivalent experieince in Biology is required; one year of field research experience. Experience with marine mammal research and long-term behavioral research is preferred. The incumbent should also have strong computer skills and be proficient in Excel. Some database experience is preferable. He/She should also demonstrate interpersonal, analytical and communication skills, including the ability to communicate with computer scientists about biological issues.
