The Sponsored Accounting Office (SAO) is responsible for monitoring and executing the post-award administration of sponsored activity for the University. Within this unit, the Sponsored Accounting Analyst has a primary role in the Cash Management functions of the department. This includes, but is not limited to, processing incoming receipts, processing Letters of Credit funding, and analysis of bank account reconciliations. Additional responsibilities include payment cycle of Subrecipient invoices; log-in, scan to departments for approval, and process invoices for payment; and communicate with Subrecipients, as needed; process of monthly journal vouchers and analysis of posted transactions and balances; month end activities, including closeout of award files; and assist with Federal, Sponsor, and Internal audits. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Accounting; at least two years, but preferably four years, of direct experience with grants and contracts - previous work in university or hospital setting with a medical research facility is a plus; strong auditing and accounting skills, a demonstrated knowledge and skills in computerized financial software, and a demonstrated understanding of research administration processes; and strong oral and written skills in communication, organization and time management.
