Description Title: Analyst, HOPE Location: MD, Gaithersburg - Corporate Headquarters Req: 02067 Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others): Major Duties and Responsibilities: ? The incumbent has strong understanding of health services research, econometrics, biostatistics, and epidemiology and can readily apply this knowledge to database analysis. Familiarity with payer claims databases, hospital databases, NHAMES, NAMCS, SEER data, Tandem Cancer databases etc. ? Must be experienced with cleaning and programming retrospective database analysis especially claims data ? Incumbent should keep abreast of new methodologies such as propensity scoring, instrumental variables (IV) and other econometric methods ? Incumbent should have understanding of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and is familiar with measures of reliability and validity testing ? Incumbent has experience conducting multiple activities at once to accomplish goals and can switch from project to project. On average, incumbent will manage between 3-5 major projects in addition to executing on urgent short-term, quick deliverables. ? In addition, incumbent must accurately scope out length and difficulty in scope of projects and triage / prioritize informational requests from other departments Position Requirements Educational Requirements Entry Level Requirements/Qualifications: ? Education: Master level education with moderate experience or PhD with minimal experience. ? Experience: Masters: 4+ years in industry or consulting, PhD: 0 to 2 years in industry or consulting. ? Special Skills/Abilities: Basic to good understanding of study design, health services research (epidemiology, health economics, biostatistics, health policy). Demonstrated ability for being a good listener and easily works with team members. Incumbent can analyze large complex health data sets using SAS software and be familiar with Excel. ?
