The Storage and Virtualization Specialist is responsible for the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and support of the Peace Corps domestic VMware ESXi and EMC / NetApp storage environments. As a senior technical expert on the agencys infrastructure team, the incumbent will also be responsible for identifying and evaluating areas for future improvements and infrastructure project planning and monitoring. Researches and/or analyzes information technology (IT) problems, issues, or program requirements relative to promoting products and services to agency mission area programs. Manages the lifecycle of an information technology project from concept development through implementation. Identifies customer requirements, develops technical approaches, and coordinates project resources related to project costs and schedules. Plans, designs, and develops test methods, procedures, techniques, and requirements for computer systems. Reviews, analyzes, evaluates, and improves hardware, software, systems, and/or equipment testing methods, concepts, techniques, and operations. Participates in the test and evaluation of contractors equipment, components, systems, or products. Develops new technologies, such as computer simulations, for innovative testing of design concepts, applications, and systems. Develops and implements test technologies to address the design, development, verification, and operation needs of software, systems or hardware.
