Description Title: Clinical Marketing Manager Location: TX, Houston Req: 02081 Specific Duties Clinical Marketing Managers (CMMs) will be responsible for promoting and selling to their core hospital business accounts. The specific duties assigned to this position will be: Hospital Sales Specialist ? Attaining the assigned sales objectives and goals. Individuals are expected to achieve the target sales objective assigned for their specified geography while staying within assigned territory budgets. ? Developing and executing territory management plans. Individuals are responsible for targeting, prioritizing and clinically selling to a variety of customers including, but not limited to, neonatologists, pediatric pulmonologists, pediatric cardiologists, pediatric and adult infectious disease specialists, pediatricians, pediatric residents and fellows, discharge planners, pharmacy directors, clinical pharmacists, all nurses (including, but not limited to, those practicing in the NICU, PICU, well-baby nursery, and step-down units), virologists/laboratory technicians, infection control personnel, pediatric oncologists, family medicine physicians, emergency room physicians, transplant physicians, occupational health personnel, and quality management personnel that are located within the assigned hospital accounts. An effective business planning process should be developed and executed, including, but not limited to, individual account sales overview, targeted personnel, clinical use guidelines/protocols, external market factors/conditions, key opportunities, sales objectives, promotional implementation plan and budget allocation. ? Developing and effectively executing institutional account plans. Based on the requirements of each account, CMMs are expected to develop and execute plans individually, or to effectively execute assigned activities as a member of one or several account teams. Effective account planning will include, but is not limited to, determining priority and investment level for each institutional account; defining account objectives and developing institutional action plans; identifying, targeting, and promoting to key institutional clinical and business personnel who influence clinical use or hospital purchasing; effectively executing account plans and appropriately meeting specific customer needs; developing potential business opportunities and clients (e.g., residents and fellows); fostering • at-risk? accounts and maintaining accounts in good standing, and involving the appropriate member(s) of the area and regional business unit teams to accomplish objectives. ? Developing and maintaining favorable customer relationships. This includes identifying and utilizing internal resources to meet customer needs, fostering interdependence, and developing each customer as a MedImmune advocate, including development of national, regional, or local key opinion leaders. Position Requirements ? Effectively marketing MedImmune products to various customers through appropriate services. These services may include, but are not limited to, thoroughly understanding and using the hospital formulary process to gain product acceptance and increasing usage via hospital protocols and/or standing orders; conducting in-services to a variety of audiences; facilitating technical and financial review processes; effectively interacting with customers to gain product use and support; and presenting pharmacoeconomic data justifying economic benefits of products. ? Facilitating the establishment of protocols between hospitals and physician offices in the community. CMMs will facilitate communications to ensure optimized tracking and eligibility of all appropriate babies to receive RSV prophylaxis. Communication may include, but is not limited to, institution-based physician letters to office-based physicians, providing patient education to all appropriate customers, ensuring discharge notes identify all appropriate babies to receive RSV prophylaxis, facilitating a community notification process of the start and end of the RSV season, working with institutional opinion leaders to establish and maintain hospital protocols/community standards of care for the use of MedImmune products. ? Identification of potential advocates for MedImmune products. CMMs will identify potential key opinion leaders as disease state and product advocates and work with government affairs personnel on participation of KOLs in advocacy. Disease State and Product Expert ? Assist BSSs as co-presenter of disease state and product information to the BSSs? customers as needed. ? Ability to assist Sales Training and Development by leading disease state and product training. ? Provide burden of disease and product education for residents and fellows. ? Educate key hospital decision-makers concerning disease state and product information. CMMs will provide clinical expertise to various hospital personnel including, but not limited to, neonatologists, pediatric pulmonologists, pediatric cardiologists, pediatric and adult infectious disease specialists, pediatricians, pediatric residents and fellows, discharge planners, pharmacy directors, clinical pharmacists, all nurses (including, but not limited to, those practicing in the NICU, PICU, well-baby nursery, and step-down units), virologists/laboratory technicians, infection control personnel, pediatric oncologists, family medicine physicians, emergency room physicians, transplant physicians, occupational health personnel, P&T committee members, and quality management personnel that are located within the assigned hospital accounts. Educational Requirements Education and Special Skills ? A four-year college degree, preferably in a scientific, medical or business discipline, or relevant experience is required. ? Background in managed care or marketing is beneficial. Experience ? A minimum of 5 years proven, successful hospital sales experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical products industry and/or a positive work history in sales at MedImmune with endorsements from appropriate members of MedImmunes sales management team is required. ? Work experience in the healthcare industry, especially the hospital setting, is beneficial. Supervision of Others Total number of individuals reporting to this position: Direct: None Indirect: None Travel Requirements Travel will vary by business territory. Overnight, multi-night, and/or weekend travel may be required to accomplish desired objectives.
