(003059) - [Advisor Assistant, Office of Enrollment Management, Non-Exempt, Contingent II, Full-Time, Grade 09] - The Advisor Assistant will help with complex administrative issues and perform limited student advising. The Advisor Assistant will need to develop A working knowledge of all UMUC undergraduate programs and will support the Undergraduate Advising Center (UGAC) with phone and walk-in assistance when necessary. Evening and weekend hours may be required periodically. Specific responsibilities include: 1. Limited student advising (e.g., registering students for pre-selected courses) 2. Replying to or redirecting student emails from the general UGAC inbox 3. Process routine degree plan changes (e.g., change of major or change of catalog year) 4. Tracking and updating all QA databases (and helping with analysis when needed) 5. Assigning and tracking advisors walk-in appointments 6. Help during peak enrollment periods by answering calls and making outbound calls to students 7. Order and control (i.e., inventory) the units office supplies 8. Update and maintain the listing of the units business processes 9. Perform other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications: HS or equivalent and 1 year experience of clerical experience preferably in a higher education student services or call center environment. Qualified candidates will have excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. The candidate needs to exhibit excellent customer service skills and be able to interact on a professional level with individuals already possessing undergraduate degrees. The candidate must have proficiency using Microsoft Office software. Position available immediately. Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
