Actuarial InternPosted: November 16, 2009
Chubbs Actuarial Departments helps the corporation to evaluate business opportunities in a given market by collecting data to identify the potential profitability and possible pitfalls. Typically, the team will base its analysis on the demand the business may create, the price required to deliver a reasonable rate of return, and the potential effect of claims on the companys profitability. Armed with this data, our actuaries advise top management on ways to balance the anticipated with the unexpected. Chubbs Actuarial Internship program offers college students the opportunity to work in one section of our Department for ten weeks during the summer. Interns are exposed to many facets of actuarial work and techniques and are introduced to insurance terminology and concepts in general. In addition to working closely with their supervisor, they are given an opportunity to meet with those that manage the other sections of the Department. We also have a mentoring program that pairs each intern with an Actuarial Student with several years of experience. Candidates should possess a Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or Actuarial Sciences degree with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
