Assistant Athletics Trainer

Under the direction of the Head Athletics Trainer, the Assistant Athletics Trainer provides student-athletes with initial injury and illness evaluations, medical referrals, follow-up evaluations, wound care, injury treatment, emergency cardiac care with AED and other emergency care, injury rehabilitation, preventative taping and bracing. Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation of medical records and injury and illness documentation for each student-athlete treated. Responsible for adhering to the Sports Medicine Department Policies and Procedures and the NATA Code of Ethics. Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Head Athletics Trainer. This position is required to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and will travel with varsity teams. Bachelor Degree required, Masters Degree preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years in a Division I-A or I-AA collegiate athletics training setting. Current NATA BOC certification required. Valid drivers license with a good driving record; must be insurable. Must be able to work confidently in a crisis or emergency situation and demonstrate knowledge of safety practices; ability to foster a cooperative work environment; proficient in computer use and relevant Microsoft applications. This position is required to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and will travel with varsity teams.
