Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description REGULAR WEEKENDS Provides therapeutic care that includes planning and implementation of treatment to patients who have been referred by a physician for rehabilitative care. Conducts therapeutic activities. Education: Associates degree and license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Maryland. Experience: None. Skills: Verbal and written communication. Physical Requirements: Visual acuity; manual dexterity and physical mobility; hear and orally communicate. Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs). Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients, supplies and equipment, prolonged standing/walking; intermittent exertion when performing treatments. Working Conditions: Possible exposure to chemicals, such as acids/alkalis, solvents, soaps/detergents, and cytotoxic drugs. Exposure to blood and body substance. Flexing to other MedStar programs and/or sites may be required. Attendance Requirement: Regular job attendance is an essential job function.
