Senior Accounting Consultant

Our client, a leading global developer of cross-asset trading, risk management, and related operational/portfolio management software solutions, is seeking an individual to serve as Senior Consultant for the Accounting and Back Office areas for its Long Island location. The primary responsibility will be to advise clients regarding the implementation of firms accounting solution. You will help document business requirements, perform implementation tasks, and provide system configuration and training of client staff in the operation of the firms straight-through processing software. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in business matters related to accounting, confirmation, and settlement processing, and will assist sales teams with demonstration of the firms software to prospective clients. Requirements: To be considered for this opportunity, you will need a Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, as well as CPA certification along with at least three years of experience working as a CPA. Our client prefers a candidate with a financial services industry background with hands-on experience with General Ledger products (SAP, PeopleSoft, Great Plains, Lawson, Oracle, etc.) or derivatives accounting software packages. You will serve as subject matter expert related to accounting standards including FAS 133, 157 and 91. You must possess excellent verbal and written skills, consulting-oriented/customer-facing skills, and willingness to travel 30% to client locations throughout North America.
