Our client, a prestigious Global Professional Services firm, is seeking a Manager of Audit and Compliance for their New York City location. Our client offers a comprehensive benefits package for this key audit function as well as a potential bonus. In this key role, you will have the following responsibilities: * Plan the time of the audit team, determine priorities, set budget and goals, etc. * Oversee the planning and management of engagements * Evaluate audit risk * Execute audits of firm operations globally and document results * Conduct close-out meetings and prepare reports for stakeholders * Oversee the tracking and semi-annual status update of critical open audit points, obtain sufficient evidence for closure, and report results periodically to senior management * Investigate fraud and other identified risks throughout the firm while managing subsequent projects as a result * Oversee the Continuous Self Assessment (CSA) process for 7 participating offices * Work with key members and senior management to gain support needed to move forward key firm objectives * Increase retention letter/conflicts clearance percentage * Update the records retention policy * Enforce preferred vendor relationships * Address critical policy needs, etc. Requirements: As the ideal candidate, you will possess a B.S. in Accounting or equivalent. CPA is required. 10-15 years of combined accounting/audit with strong internal controls review experience is required. IT audit experience is also desired. Our client strongly prefers candidates coming from a Public/Private background, coming out of a mid-size professional services firm or corporation. No straight public or financial service candidates will be accepted. You must have high level interpersonal skills, including strategies for dealing with difficult customer service situations. You should maintain a positive attitude and be willing to be a hands on manager. The ability to manage and act as the champion for system change and migrations is required. You must be a self-motivated person with excellent time management skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate results.
