Standard & Poors Data Strategy & Operations group focuses on the data management needs within the Fixed Income & Risk Management organization to ensure effective and appropriate use of quality content. This business unit is actively recruiting for an Associate/Data Manager, Data Operations-Bond Insurers. This position is responsible for delivering tactical and strategic recommendations required for execution of necessary data activities with a concentrated focus on enterprise-wide acceptable solutions. Incumbent is also responsible for the day-to-day efforts behind data operations and projects including estimating budgets, recruiting and using additional members of the team to provide larger, more far-reaching deliverables. Specifically, incumbent develops and runs a data operations process for a new model that assesses insurance companies. He/she is responsible for verifying the data set quality and adherence to specifications. If required, the Data Manager will cleanse and convert the data has so the model can use it and that it is maps sto internal S&P sector codes. This role will also be responsible for tracking and receiving data sets from the Bond Insurers on a quarterly basis and with following up on submissions that have missed the deadline. On a regular basis the Data Manager will dialog with the Bond Insurers senior management and IT group about document data processing procedures and other data issues. The Data Manager is responsible for generating regular reports for the Bond Insurance Group. Qualifications * Bachelors degree in Finance, Statistics or a closely related field is required * Must have at least 3 years of data management experience in either a bank, brokerage, or insurance company * Must have strong financial and quantitative background; a solid knowledge of insurance and reinsurance industry would be considered a plus * Strong understanding of municipal sectors, structured finance asset classes, bond coupon and amortization data, S&P ratings, currency conversion, and a basic understanding of correlation matrices is highly desirable * Attention to detail; excellent at spotting errors in large amounts of financial securities data * Previous experience serving as the liaison between IT and the business * Database knowlege (SQL queries) * Must be very comfortable communicating with senior level management and the Bond Insurers IT management * Excellent time management skills/ ability to multi-task We are an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Analytical/Research Primary Location US-NY-New York Organization Fixed Income & Risk Management Services Schedule Full-time EEO We are an equal opportunity employer.
