Clinical Analyst-Cerner Lab

Princeton HealthCare System is currently searching for a full time Clinical Analyst with Cerner Lab experience to assist the lab at the University Medical Center at Princeton.

The Clinical Analyst is responsible for the analysis of Cerner applications for Laboratory including but not limited to developing, maintaining, implementing, upgrading systems as well as troubleshooting issues. Specific duties and responsibilities include:

•        Provide application maintenance, support and implementation support for the Cerner Millennium PathNet laboratory products (Blood Bank, General Lab, Micro, Anatomic Pathology, Outreach, ePathLink, etc.)

•        Responsible for providing professional consultative oversight to the training, testing, maintenance, upgrade, evaluation, and implementation of Lab software systems and applications

•        Demonstrates strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and creativity skills in providing necessary support of lab systems in conjunction with PHCS IT strategic planning

•        Develop and implement regression, unit and integration testing plans for Lab system software as required

•        Completes assigned tasks per defined project scope, timelines, and budgets for implementations. Works to prescribed methodologies for all project implementations. May work on multiple implementations at any given time

•        Functions as a team leader with advanced problem solving and implementation skills, and/or as a team member to implement, upgrade and support complex application systems.

•        Demonstrates strong analytical skills in gathering information, defining work problems, and designing a system of procedures to resolve problems.

•        Completion of department solutions and strategies based on the system analysis of the application.

•        Reports on systems projects and any technical issues, problems, timelines in a timely manner.

•        Provides oversight in Cerner products among other clinical applications.

•        Reviews all new projects listed from the Manager of Clinical Applications.

•        Manages multiple projects and gives weekly status reports.

•        Team player and meets all mandatory requirements for compliance and maintains compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements. Displays initiative and good judgment in fostering the mission of PHCS.

•        Uses the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) model for improving department/unit performance and validates that improvement is achieved.

•        Enforces all PHCS policies and procedures.

•        Assumes Clinical IT duties and responsibilities of scheduled daytime and off shift on-call rotation.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

•        Clinical background as medical technologist or lab technician preferred. BS Degree preferred but not required.

•        Licensure &Certifications: Applicable only to applicants with clinical degrees

•        Minimum one year progressive lab system experience required; Cerner Millennium experience preferred

•        Knowledge of Cerner Millennium 2003.02 version desirable

•        Knowledge of EC/ES and ability to perform EC/ES uploads desirable.

•        Knowledge and build experience with Bedrock desirable.
