SUMMARY:
Be the primary manager/facilitator of the development of user driven, consensus based global standards. This includes managing and overseeing the functioning of diverse groups of user companies, providing expert input on both the pertinent business practices and the EAN system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Serve as the EDI/SIL technology expert in business process work groups, working with technical requirements groups and global marketplace initiatives. Activities and responsibilities can range from a leadership position, that of running and hosting a workgroup, to individual contributions in the form of making presentations to the group as a topical expert or performing work assignments like generating a new guidelines for distribution to our members.

· Core Technology Support - Primary liaison with ANSI ASC X12 and UN/EDIFACT. Develop and implement EDI/SIL technology programs and communication tools, support technical industry trade shows, orchestrate and update core technology presentations, prepare and deliver regional seminar content. Orchestrate trade-show promotional campaigns for technology initiatives.

· Technology Development - Develop initiatives and programs to support the technology research effort, such as the maintenance of SIL syntax and dictionary, support the maintenance of X12 syntax, support the maintenance of EDIFACT syntax. Serve as EDI/SIL subject matter expert externally and internally. Manage external resources assigned to technology development projects.

· Document the developed EDI/SIL specifications for publishing to the user community. Participate in conferences and meetings with users and be able to explain the EAN System standards internally to staff and to users.
