Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications/operating systems. Also, coordinates work teams. Provides technical support to project team members. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. May report to an executive or a manager. Compensation depends on level of experience.
The candidate must possess strong software design skills using:
• Programming languages: Java, Java Swing, RMI, C/C++, Tcl/Tk,, XML,HTML,
• Databases: Strong Oracle 10g
• Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS
• Object modeling languages: OMT, UML (PLUS)
• Operating Systems: Solaris (Unix),AIX, Windows XP
Experience with real-time telecommunications network surveillance systems is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written & oral skills are needed to succeed in this team environment. Detailed tasks will include providing input to system requirements, preparing detail design documents, coding, code inspection, development testing, and includes investigation and resolution of problems found during development, and subsequent Product Test.
